Our client, a leading international solution provider for the energy industry, seeks to add a new member to their team as an "Assembly Technician." The incumbent will be responsible for the assembly and testing of mechanical assemblies as part of the production process and will complete training to undertake higher complexity assemblies. This role is based in Takoradi, Ghana.
Responsibilities include:
• Assembles and tests assemblies according to specifications. Develops and applies basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment.
• Completes all required test documentation.
• Assists other Assemblers in more advanced functions when assigned.
• Adheres to safety measures/procedures and cleanliness guidelines in and out of the workshop and ensures all employees do the same. Handles and stores tools, equipment and components correctly as per specification or instruction.
• Ensures the appropriate material handling equipment is used to move parts and components.
• Ensures all labour details are correctly recorded.
Qualifications & Skills:
• HND or BS in Engineering required. 4+ years working experience in a technical field is preferred.
• Ability to understand all engineering and weld blueprints and all written engineering procedures. Knowledge of components, circuits and their interfaces at a subassembly level. Ability to read and interpret schematics and Bills of Materials.
• Demonstrates good interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills.
• Ability to operate high, low and hydrostatic pressure pumps, high torque tools, wrenches, overhead cranes, jib cranes, forklifts, and rigging.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring devices such as height gauges, adjustable parallels, callipers and pressure gauges. Ability to use personal and workstation computer.
